Sardana de concert nº1 "Igualada"
Sardana is a traditional Catalonian dance based on the alternance of a solo passage of flutes, a series of repetitions of a short theme (curts) and a series of repetitions of a long theme (llargs). Traditionally, Sardana are performed by an ensemble called Cobla, with non-orchestral instruments such as tenora, tible, flabiol y tamboril. The estructure of this Sardana, composed for the contest Paquita Madriguera 2011 and arrange for full symphonic orchestra, is one flute solo, two curts, two llargs, another flute solo, one curt, one llarg, one variation of the curt (in major tone) and the final cadence.
